   It was not a surprise to me in the least. As much as I respect Mr Patinkin’s talents (all of them, including his singing) he has pulled this stunt before (remember Chicago Hope?) I think he gets bored with repetition and needs constant challenges to keep his focus (I dunno I’m guessing here) so anyone who does hire him long term, needs to be aware of that.

   That being said, I don’t watch the show JUST because he was on it. However, he was a big reason and he helped me ignore the stereotypical ‘computer nerd’ who always helps out when the writer’s can’t figure out how to work the plot line. Oh well, guess we can’t have all our hopes when it comes to TV can we…or can we?

   I’ll miss him. He played the part well. That show has grown on me. At first I didn’t care much for it because of the Dr. Reid character. No one is that smart in so many areas of science. But I’ve noticed they’ve toned that character down a bit. A replacement for Patinkin who was considered was Geena Davis. But they didn’t choose her. I thought she would have been good.

   I’ll watch it regardless because it is a great show, and it’s a great ensemble show – there’s not just one star. But what I would like to know is the true reason he’s leaving. He cited "creative differences" – but I’ve never really been quite sure what that means. Are they messing with his character? did they want him to be gay? did they want to make him a serial killer? What!!!!!!!!!!!!

   I’m going to try to stick in there with it…after all, he really isn’t everything, but he was the reason I started watching…there is something so dynamic and attractive about him, and I’m glad to have been able to see his work on broadcast TV again…

   i will still watch it but it def wont be the sme without him he is a great actor. but shemar morre is still there and i love him
